Data Security
Scimitar Research prioritizes data security by hosting all data on secure servers with robust security measures, including firewalls and SSL encryption. Our data security features include:

• Physical Security: Servers are protected by a central station alarm system with 24-hour monitoring.
• Power Backup: Servers are connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) providing at least 1 hour of emergency backup power.
• Data Backup: Data is automatically backed up daily to an online backup server. System security updates and patches are regularly checked, tested, and implemented.
• Periodic Audits: We conduct regular audits on web, mail, and firewall systems to proactively manage our infrastructure and minimize risks of system or data compromise.
• Protection Against Malicious Attacks: Our servers are protected by a stateful firewall based on Cisco products. Our policy is to deny all access and only enable pre-determined protocols and port numbers. Essential services such as HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, FTP, and SMTP are selectively opened, and specific rules are in place for remote management over a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN).
• Encryption: Our firewall, web server, and VPN server utilize a 128-bit encryption system to protect data.
